Learning stations!!!!!!!

I like working in groups with my friends. I think 15min per station is a good time. Everything we did in the stations i already knew, but otherwise ip would have learned alot.

Mathletics

Mathletics aint the greatest thing in the world, but it has its moments. I really like the live math we do sometimes. It's challenging and fun. But the question it has that you by yourself makes me mad and i don't like it.

7 things that make students weak in math.

It says the number one thing that makes students weak in math is fraction. I don't exactly agree. I believe the thing that makes or breaks a student is the environment we work in. In elementary school i always had trouble concentrating on the work. I would always be reading posters or looking at other students work on the walls. Being a class with my friends with no posters and no distractions is actually very helpful.

Fractions (eww gross)

I don't like fractions. They scare the crap outta me. I can work with them, but that doesn't mean that i like them. I still can't reduce or simplify, or whatever. Fractions may suck, but they are pretty useful. Going in to grade 9, i could not do fractions for the life of me. I have most definitely learned a lot here. Im also so excited to learn more.

Marks.

I really don't know how we are marked. I know that we get deducted marks for nhi's. (Not handed in) i think i need to learn more about how we are marked. It could seriously help me with my grades. :P

Calculators

I love my calculator. Its AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! It can solve equations, add, subtract,divide multiply and it has exponents it gas brackets, and it doesn't have a number amount limit. Its just the greatest calculator EVER.
But, people still need to know how to do math without calculators. Thats my thought on this.

App Review

My favourite app for the iPad is algebra touch. You move the numbers and learn how to solve the equations. I couldn't solve equations for the life of me. Now i have an idea. I can do the math and solve for x.
My least favourite is dragon box. It doesn't make sense. It has nothing to do with math and i hate it with a passion.

Math in my everyday life.

Using math everyday sounds terrible. But we do. We just don't know it. Math is as common as time, and money, for example. I use math to help keep track of time. I also count change when i want to go to the corner store to get 5cent candies. I don't like the thought of math everyday, but i cant live with out it. :)

Math... What's up with that?

Oh my gosh. I suck at math. Im pretty sure a squirrel would be better at math than i am. In elementary school math was a nightmare. I would fail all of my tests. And i would use a calculator on every question. I understood... Almost nothing! Math was so boring, so i always dozed off or zoned out for the ENTIRE hour. I did not understand very much, i especially suck at equations. Solving for x and all of those steps were so confusing! I think im so bad at math because the only way my teacher would teach us is by showing. Thats it! We didn't get the chance to go hands on. BEDMAS really helped with my math. With out that, pffft, god only knows how terrible i would be with out it.
Math... Whats up with that?
